Business Energy Efficiency Project (BEEP)

31st January 2017 By Daniel

The Business Energy Efficiency Project (BEEP) has been developed to increase the uptake of energy efficient technologies and processes within the SMEs of County Durham.

The project has secured ERDF support within the 2014-2020 Programme and has been endorsed by the North East Chamber of Commerce, the North East Local Enterprise Partnership, the Federation of Small Businesses, Business Durham, Northern Powergrid and the Energy Institute of Durham University.

The Project’s main objectives are:

  • To provide a trusted source of free, simple advice and guidance
  • To promote the long term financial and marketing advantages of energy efficiency
  • To provide free, bespoke and in-depth SME energy audits
  • To provide a financial instrument (grant) to encourage the installation of highly efficient technology

The Project can provide a grant of up to 40% off the cost of installing appropriate energy efficient technology as identified by a free BEEP audit.  The purchase of any equipment must comply with EU Procurement regulations to secure the 40% grant, however the BEEP team will support all participating SMEs through this process.

For further details please contact the BEEP team on 03000 265547.
